We will see the Full Moon in the UK on Sunday 5th February at 6:28pm (weather permitting)
The explanation behind February’s full Moon name is a fairly straightforward one: it’s known as the Snow Moon due to the typically heavy snowfall that occurs in February. On average, February is the United States’ snowiest month, according to data from the National Weather Service. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver, who had visited with the Naudowessie (Dakota), wrote that the name used for this period was the Snow Moon, “because more snow commonly falls during this month than any other in the winter.”
Other common names are Storm Moon and Hunger Moon.
First and foremost, crystals; don't forget this is a great time to harness the beautiful energy of the moon to cleanse and recharge your crystals.
Be careful if you leave them outside and remember that some crystals don't like getting wet or damp. If you can, a window sill is the best place for them to soak up the moon rays as they can stay warm and dry whilst being cleansed. You can put them out a day before and a day after too, so don't fret too much about getting it right on the night!
The Leo Full Moon arrives on February 5th, 2023. It carries a heart-centered vibration that can inspire confidence and help us push forward.
Leo is often associated with royalty, glamour, and being center stage. Represented by the lion, Leo is a proud energy that encourages us to shake out our manes and stride through life with grace and confidence.
Our inner fires will be stoked as the full moon in Leo encourages us to reflect on what has brought us joy, passion, and happiness over the last six months, collective positivity will be boosted by this full moon, so we may feel inspired to share the love. Although the winter sky is cool, this fiery full moon will remind us to embrace our inner spark.
Under this February Full Moon, give yourself permission to shake off your mane and put yourself in the center. Do something that you love, do something that makes you feel special, and have fun with it!
There is no shrinking back under this Full Moon especially if you've suffered with the "January Blues"... Step forward. Own your life. Own who you are. Be proud of where you stand. Feel yourself rise as you lift yourself higher.
As it's a Sunday evening, try and get out to see the moon - soak up the beautiful vibes and release anything that no longer serves you. It's good to have a monthly detox and especially now that January, generally the hardest month for most, is soon to be gone.
Everyone will practice their releases in their own way but a nice simple one is to write down a list of what no longer serves your highest good, fold it up and burn it. As you watch the flames take away your wishes, recite them in your head or out loud.
Know and trust that the universe has heard your message and it will release you from the constraints of what you've just released.
