March Worm Moon

March Worm Moon

March: Worm Moon

Native Americans called this last full moon of winter the worm moon after the worm trails that would appear in the newly thawed ground. Other names include chaste moon, death moon, crust moon and sap moon, after the tapping of the maple trees.

The next full moon is on 7 March at 12.40pm in the UK

As the worms wiggle their way through the dirt to the surface, leaving their unmistakable casts on lawns and gardens, they signal a new season of growth and abundance, an ancient reminder of a distant past that today serves as an indisputable sign of the changing time.

The worm moon typically occurs during March or April, when nature is beginning to come alive again following the cold winter months.

Symbolically, the full worm moon marks a time of new beginnings and a transformation from dormancy into regeneration.

Like them, we've often spent the winter hibernating away (in general) and as the days grow longer, become brighter earlier and also warming up - we begin to get more zest for life and look forward to longer, warmer summer evenings.

It provides us with a chance for fresh starts and new beginnings, offering hope for what’s ahead. The worm moon is a reminder that we have the power within ourselves to start over and pursue our dreams no matter where we are in life.

Falling in the sign of Virgo, the March Full Moon will feel like a tonic - it is a sign of the coming spring, signalling a new season of growth, renewal, and life. It’s an especially meaningful time for those who come from spiritual backgrounds. For those, the appearance of this luminary points to good health and new beginnings.

It signals that healthful habits and practices should be taken up and that challenging mentalities should be put aside so we can create our own rematches with ourselves in peace.

After all, it’s our physical and mental health that ultimately make or break us; this month is the perfect time to focus on those two pillars for achieving true well-being.

This full moon is the last one in the Astrological year - so this is a must-do time to release anything you no longer want or need to take into the next astro-year.

This full moon falls under a Virgo and is a time to step into your full power and realise your potential. It’s a time to shift from the feeling of lack mentality, which tells us we are not enough, to the energy of abundance, which tells us we are full. When we come from a mindset of lack, we don’t think we have anything to give to others.
Once we recognise the various ways we tell ourselves we are not enough, we can replace this thinking with thoughts that enforce our worth and abundance.

This moon is rising at exactly 16 degrees Virgo while opposing the sun in Pisces. While Pisces represents your intuition and your spirituality, Virgo represents your daily routine, your physical health, your work and your external reality. Virgo thrives in the material realm while Pisces exists in the world of spirit. And when a full moon takes place in Virgo, it sharpens the details of your reality and reveals what still needs cleaning, nurturing organising and fixing.

Take the time in this powerful full moon to release and to also make plans for those jobs you’ve been putting off - to get done.

As ever - crystals… the perfect time for a recharge and replenish! Don’t forget if you are putting them outside to cover them up as sone of them won’t appreciate the damp air as it’s not quite warm summer nights yet, and they can go out the night before, and after too.

Alternatively - keep them inside and on the window sill if you can, if not there are other ways to cleanse and recharge your crystals

If you can get outside to see the moon (weather permitting) then try to do so and just connect with the amazing energy it provides!
