September Harvest Moon

September Harvest Moon

September: Full Corn Moon (Harvest Moon)

September's full corn moon is so called because this is when crops are gathered at the end of the summer season. At this time, the Moon appears particularly bright and rises early, letting farmers continue harvesting into the night. This moon is also sometimes named the barley moon, and it is often the nearest full moon to the autumnal equinox, earning the title of 'harvest moon’.
Interestingly it has a special astronomical significance because for a few nights it rises earlier than most full moons and we in the northern hemisphere will see it for longer. In the days before tractors had lights - the light from the full moon illuminated the farmers fields right after sunset to give them extra time to bring the crops in!

This Saturday, 10th September at 10:59am the moon will be at its peak.

This full moon falls in the sign of Pisces, which is said to have members of the zodiac thinking practically and possibly even being hyper-focused on small details of life, such as tweaking your self-care routine, rearranging your furniture, or creating a new filing system for your important paperwork.
When the Moon reaches fullness in Pisces, the sun is in Virgo - Pisces’ sister sign and the lunar cycle that began with the New Moon in Virgo on August 27 reaches its end. Now is a great time to journal and reflect on how you express love. Will release serve your soul during this Full Moon? If no - It’s time to let go!

If you’re a Virgo you may feel stressed out or anxious. Full moons can bring big energy that often causes high emotions and drama for many of us - especially empaths, so to combat any possibility of negative energy or emotional incidents during the lunation, it could be a good idea to stay in and get some much-needed rest. Although it may feel out of character for you to spend a few days at home, it might just be what you need to recharge and keep yourself out of any drama that might be brewing or about to be going on around you.

This is a prime opportunity also to spend that time at home to do some full moon releases, reflections and if like us - you love your crystals - make some time to just be and re-connect with them if you’ve not been working with them too much. Don’t forget to put them out to recharge under the moonlight (usual rules apply to ones that don’t like damp), you can do this tonight, tomorrow and the night after - so don’t worry too much if you miss tomorrow’s full moon.

If you get the opportunity to see the moon - go and chill with it for a while, sit outside (if it’s dry) and just focus on the moon and feel her energy.

Enjoy your evening whatever you get up to! :-)
