Last night I received a new delivery of various Oracle cards and tarot cards for the shop and some for me of course too ;-)
I spent some time reading the backs and looking at the artwork in some that I purchased for myself and it got me thinking… then I went to bed
During the night I had some vivid dreams and messages about my life and the direction of The Kent Crystal Cave, where it was going and what I want to achieve with it all long term etc...
When I woke in this morning, I felt the need for a card shuffle. Lately I’ve been very in tune with The Sacred Forest by Denise Linn - I love the artwork and the messages, however, this morning I felt a shift in energy, I felt like I needed a more spiritual card pull and I was immediately drawn to one of my other decks - Gateway Of Light Activation Oracle by Kyle Gray. I shuffled the cards and asked “I’m feeling a shift of energy - did my dreams that I had have a message for me - should I do it?”
Immediately two cards flew out of the deck - Sirius Star Blessings (Yes, Proceed, Be seen, Push through) and Karmic Board Clearing (Energetic Clearing, Rewrite Your Story, Live Your Truth)
This couldn’t be more apt to the dreams I had and the plans I awoke with this morning. I’ve had some new and exciting ideas for the crystals, all with healing in mind and a couple of them seemed a bit “out there” but you know what, that’s just self limiting beliefs! Actually they’re great ideas that are a bit different to having them by your bedside table, or inside your home in the lounge, or a pouch in your pocket.
When I sat and thought about the whole cards thing - I’ve been a massive fan of them for a long time, my collection has grown because like anything in life there are different “levels” of understanding and spiritual structure - occasionally we need to step up the game, or sometimes, we need to take a step back and stick with the simple cards that remind us of our spiritual roots.
We can use our cards for various reasons - daily guidance from our angels and spirit guides, we can use them in times of emotional stress - so maybe if we are feeling a bit low, or we have brain fog - we can use cards to guides us through, comfort us or help clear the fogginess that obstructs our focus and vision.
There’s no such thing as a coincidence when it comes to cards, we are all surrounded by our angels and sometimes our intuition is assisted by said angels - they can guide us in ways we would never see or understand...
When an author, such as Kyle Gray or Denise Linn, Sandra Taylor etc make the decision to create a set of cards - one of the fundamentals is the artwork. The artist must depict what the message is that the author wants to share. It's very important that as an author that their messages and guidance are delivered to us in the way they intend.
As we use our cards more and more - we can eventually “feel” the picture and may not even need to read the words because we become 'in tune with it' - this is our intuition coming in to play and the cards bridge the gap. The more you use them the more you can learn to trust your intuition.
If you like tarot and do readings - with practice you’ll soon know what each and every card means without referencing the guide book as tarot is a more structured system. There are always 78 cards (the odd exception will occur) and irrespective of what brand or author you use, the ten of pentacles is still the ten of pentacles, but when placed with another card, it changes the whole meaning or reading.
Tarot is definitely very different and you can still do a daily card pull if you like, but there certainly is a lot more to consider when doing readings for yourself or others.
We the end user will resonate with certain types of wording, artwork, messages or authors which is why it's nice to have a small selection of cards.
