Ocean Jasper Sphere

Ocean jasper, also known as Orbicular Jasper only comes from one mine in the world - and is only accessible as Low Tide!

Ocean Jasper was first discovered in 1922, but there was no information as to the locality (other than somewhere in Madagascar). Fast forward to 1997 when an ambitious Paul Obenich of Madagascar Minerals spent 45 days searching the coast of Madagascar and finally found the location of the mysterious stone.  The location is only visible during low tide, which made efforts to search quite challenging!  Ocean Jasper was then brought to the Tucson Gem Show in 2000 and was an instant sensation.

The location found by Paul Obenich has been “Mined Out" since 2006, which means miners have exhausted its supply and what is on the market currently for the location Maravato, Madagascar, is all there will ever be - however new veins in the old mine are being exposed through erosion form the sea and some smaller quantities are being discovered.

The stone itself is good for digestion, detoxing and prevention of disease. It assists with emotional stress and responsibility by releasing the stresses and strains that may be being carried on one’s heart by urging them to speak up and vocalise the issues.

Ocean Jasper is a perfect stone to help one heal and find resolution with their emotions, relationships, and most importantly, themselves. This stone is great to have  with you whenever you are discussing sensitive feelings that have been locked away within - so naturally this is a great stone for anyone who may be completing a course of therapy as the sessions tend to bring up deep seated emotions.
